Matthew 7:7–8

Ask, seek, knock

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus invites his listeners to pray with persistence: ask, seek, knock. He compares God to a father who gives good gifts to his children. If imperfect parents know how to give good things, how much more will the Father in heaven.

Matthew 7:7–8

7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
